I’m a contemporary pianist, songwriter and educator teaching students piano fundamentals, jazz harmony, improvisation, songwriting and production.
What I Teach

Ages 3-50+, beginner through advanced
Classical foundations, jazz, improvisation, songwriting and arranging
Songwriting coaching and DAW based music education (Logic Pro, Garage Band)
Assistance with launching an online presence including joining a PRO and launching music on streaming platforms
Focus on ear training, extended harmony and reading charts and chord progressions
Coaching in breathing techniques, managing stage presence & performance anxiety
Neurodivergent learners welcome, lessons are highly adaptive

Teaching Philosophy
Since 2020, I have taught private piano lessons and worked within a structured music academy in Southeastern Michigan. My approach is student-centered and hands-on, offering customized lessons that adapt to each learner’s goals, learning style, and pace.
As a graduate of the University of Michigan Jazz Studies program, I emphasize a well-rounded foundation in piano technique and music theory, with a focus on improvisation, ear training, chordal foundations, and extended harmony. Lessons balance structure and play, encouraging both technical growth and creative exploration.
My goal as a teacher is to foster curiosity and creativity within a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment. I work closely with students and, when appropriate, with parents and guardians to support at-home practice and build sustainable learning routines.
I believe music education is accessible at any age or stage of life. I currently teach students ranging from ages five to fifty, whether they are learning songs by ear, improving sight-reading, or composing original music.
