Since 2020, I have been teaching private piano lessons and working at a local music academy in Southeastern Michigan. I lead a student-tailored approach, offering a customized and hands-on learning experience for each student. As a graduate of the University of Michigan Jazz Program, I specialize in teaching a well-rounded approach to piano technique and theory, with a focus on improvisation, ear-training, chordal foundations and extended harmony. Lessons are balanced and fun; with a bit of structure and a bit of play. My goal as a teacher is to facilitate my students’ curiosity and sense of creativity within a safe and supportive environment. I often work closely with parents and guardians to reinforce at-home learning and create routine and structure for the student to continue their studies outside of the studio. I also strongly believe that you are not too old or too young: you can spark a passion to play piano at any age or stage. I have students ranging from five years to fifty in age.
